4.0 Release!
Hello guys! The most awaited version 4.0 is here! With major changes and additions that are bound to spice out your chat! Let's go over the most important changes first:
- New gauntlet added: FF9. The biggest one yet!
You can now play on the entirety of the journey of FF9. This gauntlet contains 48 new stages! (For reference, the FF7 and FF8 were 30 each). And this gauntlet introduces a lot of flavor to the battles, characters and bosses can actually interact and talk mid battle, much like the original game! The enemy variety and attacks is much higher too, every single boss has been handcrafted to not feel as generic as the other gauntlets, they ALL have custom attacks, as opposed as just a few from previous gauntlets. This has been the major factor as to why it took so long to prepare this content patch.
The goal is to up to these standards to the FF7-8 gauntlets, for now, they will be deactivated until they are ready again so they work on the same volume and quality of the FF9 Gauntlet. This means, we are going to be only playing on the FF9 gauntlet temporally.
- We are Idling from 6 players... to 11!
That's right, the maximum amount of players that can join at the same time is now almost doubled! With this, has come some major difficulty adjustments, it should feel generally the same from 1 to 6 players, but from there, the more they join, the faster and more powerful the bosses will be... of course, accompanied with a generous increase of EXP for the effort. Your chat can now craft some crazy team compositions, it will be needed to meet the raised increase in difficulty! More on that later.
- Presentation overhaul.
Most of the visual bugs has been corrected, including that pesky Lightning jumping all over the screen. The other big change is the font used for damage and skills, its far clearer to read, and easier to follow. Given the amount of damage a lot of you have been able to pump out, a notation system has been implemented too that should make it easier to read. For example, 240429 damage will display as 240k, it even goes to the millions :)
- Balance.
There has been a lot of changes to the rate of witch limit break is gained in battle, most characters take longer now get it, so they should be spamming considerably less (Before, they would simply use it every other turn). Some notable exceptions to this are in place, certain characters went the opposite route, and now they pretty much spam limit break as their main gimmick. Tifa, Zell, Yuffie and Marcus are such examples! Potencies are generally untouched on this patch, I feel we are on a good spot with the numbers.
- AND A TEASER FOR WHAT'S TO COME SOON.... SEASONS.
With 50 characters as a base, I feel we are ready to launch some long coming content, from the next patch and onwards, you, as a streamer, will be able to choose if you want to participate in seasonal content or not, and you will be able to do so at the timing of your own choice.
A new season will mean, everyone in chat will start from level 1, and with the stats reset to 0, only keeping their ascension amount! From there, every NG+ beaten by chat will offer permanent rewards for everyone. Beating NG will add BRAND NEW characters to the pool of hirable characters, so if the base is 50 characters, each NG+ will add another one! All the way to NG+20.
More information when the time comes, stay tuned!
